"Since 1985 I've watched the Korean-Chinese restaurant on Garden Grove Boulevard become a local institution and important gathering place: its affordable menu and three dining rooms have hosted countless baekils, doljanchis, birthdays and anniversaries — including my grandmother's 101st birthday. During the statewide shutdown the usually bustling dining rooms are dimly lit, tables removed and the main dining room barricaded by a folding table and plastic film; co-owner Diane Cheng says revenue is down 70 percent and that she applied to her bank for PPP help but never heard back. The menu reads like a classic Chinese‑American spot (broccoli beef, egg rolls, wonton soup, chicken fried rice), but the best representation of Korean–Chinese fusion is its locally famous jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles); tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour pork) and big, thick-skinned pork-and-ginger dumplings are also classic takeout fare." - Euno Lee
