"Four months after a devastating fire, the Shanxi noodle specialist makes a triumphant return. The restaurant is celebrated for its thick, bouncy Shanxi-style knife-cut noodles, or dao xiao mian, which are now cut using a specialized machine. While originally a fusion of Shanxi and Sichuan cuisines, the restaurant has stuck to its original menu post-reopening, dominated by soupy and stir-fried noodles. New additions include 'family noodles', a hot pot-like dish. The restaurant, now located at Swan's Market in Old Oakland, has been redesigned with a contemporary look and features a mural by artist Jocelyn Tsaih." - Luke Tsai
