"I watched Dallas ice cream lovers line up this weekend for nitrogen-frozen ice cream at the new outpost of Cauldron Ice Cream, a California chain that opened its much-anticipated first Dallas shop with a grand opening on March 2 at 3001 Knox Street, #103. They put on a show by freezing ice cream with liquid nitrogen and churn out fresh, creative flavors like Vietnamese coffee, Earl Grey lavender, sea salted caramel crunch, and H20 rose, and the ice cream can be scooped into the chain’s self-described “puffle” cones (puffy bubble waffle cones) in flavors such as red velvet. The Knox Street shop is open now with hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and as of last spring the chain planned to open six Dallas-area outposts over the next six years." - Adele Chapin
