"Inside the upstairs bar and lounge at his Southern-style Succotash, I found Mr. Lee’s to be a new Penn Quarter pop-up adorned with silk Korean lanterns and neon signage that is scheduled to open Tuesday, September 4 and expected to operate through the end of the year. Inspired by lively night markets in Asia and Edward Lee’s Korean heritage, it will rotate a small menu weekly using produce from the Penn Quarter farmer’s market, with Asian plates ($9–$24) such as hand-cut noodles with beef-black bean sauce and dumplings stuffed with duck confit or sweet potato and edamame; the opening menu also features a bibimbap dish and a kimchi sampler. The colorful cocktail program ($12–$13) includes the Miss Korea (soju, melon syrup, yuzu, and egg white), Red Tokyo (sakura-infused sake, Luxardo, ginger, and Mr. Lee’s Chinese bitters), and an Old Fashioned, plus a 375-ml bottle of Charm Soju for $20, and the pop-up will offer a daily happy hour (4–7 p.m.) with $1 chicken wings, $6 sake cocktails, beers from $4, and wine and cocktails for $6–$8." - Tierney Plumb
