"Relic Bageri was born during the pandemic in 2020 when Samantha Bird was laid off from her dream job as a pastry chef at Mille Fleurs. Bird and partner Derek Hadden began baking out of her North Park apartment kitchen, eventually moving into Makers Kitchen in the Miramar area. They have been running sellout Sunday pop-ups out of a private commercial kitchen space for the past two years. The bakery is known for a highly creative lineup of pastries and baked goods that span both sweet and savory spectrums. Relic Bageri plans to open a permanent storefront in the East Village, with a large patio and indoor seating. The new location will serve as a full-fledged restaurant offering plated lunch dishes, dinner, beer, and wine.
