"A speakeasy-inspired cocktail bar opening next door at 103 Porter St that emphasizes a secretive, reservation-driven arrival: guests must find a nine-foot-tall hidden door with a sliding window to announce their booking to a host. The intimate 30-seat space, designed by Hacin + Associates, favors a more sophisticated, upscale take on speakeasy style with splashes of gold and blue and an ornate central chandelier rather than a dark Prohibition-era vibe. The beverage program, run by Josue Castillo, will feature 16–20 cocktails from classics like the Old Fashioned to lighter, beachy drinks (one in development uses watermelon juice and bubbles). The food menu, developed with Pazza on Porter’s executive chef Stephen Ennamorati, is built to complement the cocktails and centers on a raw bar (seafood towers, oysters, salmon crudo, caviar), small plates (yellowfin tacos on crispy wonton shells, steak tartare, smoked salmon on blinis) and curated charcuterie and cheese boards." - Terrence Doyle
