"Brought to LoHi by the owners of Golden’s Citizen Thai, Daughter Thai Kitchen & Bar opened earlier this week as an upscale, more elegant take on Thai cuisine that emphasizes plate presentation and culinary quality and aims to offer a stylish, date-friendly ambience. The space, located on the ground floor of the new Riverview office building at 1700 Platte Street, is sleek and artful with hanging light fixtures, white curtains, and a wall mural depicting Thai temples. The menu is described as less traditional and more of a Thai-fusion approach, divided into small plates, Thai street food (including pad thai and pineapple fried rice) and entrees, and includes unusual items like quail tod—deep-fried quail with pepper sauce, fried garlic, and leeks—and a lamb massaman that incorporates extra lychee for a sweeter, more flavorful twist. Street food dishes range $15–$19, entrees $18–$32, and a lunch menu runs $13–$18. The bar features both Asian and American beers on tap, Asian-inspired cocktails, and a limited wine list." - Paul Albani-Burgio
