"I discovered a stylish, Parisian-inspired lounge in the Warehouse District created by British-born restaurateurs Chris and Mark Beardon alongside Andrew Duncan; they’ve recruited local talent like cocktail makers Kiah Darion (Bar Marilou) and Will Lester (Longway Tavern) and chefs Indigo “Soul” Martin and Adrian Martinez. Jolie has transformed a former World of Beer into a carpeted, furniture-filled room with a sexy, old-world European vibe where the food, drinks, and entertainment are deliberately transportive — live music, DJs, and a monthly “Cirque de Jolie” featuring sword swallowers and acrobats. Cocktails are extravagant and theatrical, using atomizers, eye droppers, blow torches, and even Pop Rocks attached to a French 75, while the mostly shareable, French-leaning menu features dishes such as escargot, foie gras toast, tempura frog legs, bone marrow, and beef carpaccio. The bar is open evenings most of the week (Mon, Wed, Thu, Sun 4–11; Fri–Sat 4–1)." - Clair Lorell
