Stellar Pupatella Pizzeria Expects to Open Its Second Arlington Location Next Week | Eater DC

"A certified Neapolitan-style pizzeria, it's been churning out destination brick-oven pies, arancini, and gelato at its original Arlington location since 2010, and now expects to open a second shop at 1621 S. Walter Reed Drive next week. Partner Anastasiya Laufenberg says she and Enzo Algarme are training staff there and “should” start selling pizza next week. The new space, formerly an Ethiopian restaurant just off South Glebe Road near Army Navy Country Club and the Arlington Cinema Draft House, is 2,200 square feet and includes a 40-seat covered patio. Formerly a food truck, Pupatella's expansion is stemming from a $3.75 million round of fundraising; the brand has franchised two locations in the Richmond area, plans to open eight pizzerias in the next few years, and, according to founding partner Michael Berger, already has a lease for a third Northern Virginia shop at 1821 Wiehle Avenue in Reston." - Gabe Hiatt
