"I expect Paulie’s South Street Steaks to be the first to open in a 1,790-square-foot space at the Lowe’s Plaza on Craig Road, a short distance from the Sweet Popp Shopp and the intersection with Jones Boulevard. Owned and led by Philadelphia-born chef Marcus Morin, who was most recently associated with shuttered Filipino restaurant The Cutting Board and Fremont East’s Corner Bar Management, the menu is highlighted by cheesesteaks made with a thinly sliced blend of Kobe and prime sirloin served on 12-inch, locally sourced buns with plenty of toppings including the obligatory Cheez Whiz; the kitchen will also offer chicken breast sandwiches, grinders, a wagyu French dip, and a collection of fries. Also planned within the same restaurant is a side project, Paulie’s Sweet Scoops, which will serve milkshakes and sundaes made from 10 flavors of house-made ice cream that can be upgraded with dozens of different toppings." - Bradley Martin
