"Set to open at 510 Gray Street later this year, I learned that Zalat is a Dallas-born, rapidly growing pizza chain known for creatively topped, chewy thin-crust pies; expect everything from classic pepperoni to elote-style corn, Nashville hot chicken, pickles, and a pho-inspired pie called the "Pho Shizzle." Fans also favor the "Srirancha" (a mix of sriracha and ranch) for dipping. Founded by Khanh Nguyen—who has ties to Houston, having attended Klein Forest High School and the University of Houston—Zalat launched in 2015 and has expanded from a stoner-friendly pizzeria to a major player in Dallas's pizza scene with more than 10 locations. No official Houston opening date has been announced, but it’s expected sometime this summer." - Amy McCarthy
