"Opening in spring 2020 at 32C N. Market Street right next to 5Church, Tempest will offer upscale seafood for lunch and dinner under the direction of Top Chef alum Jamie Lynch. The menu is expected to feature lobster, giant prawn, oysters, mussels, clams, white shrimp and elaborate seafood towers. Owner Patrick Whalen says he hopes Tempest will combine top-notch cuisine using locally sourced ingredients with innovative design and outstanding service to create an inspiring dining experience. The Tempest and adjacent 5Church spaces were originally the Church of the Redeemer Chapel and the Harriott Pinckney Home for Seamen, which the Charleston Port and Seafarers’ Society operated for about 50 years; more details on the menu and the space will be available closer to the opening." - Erin Perkins
