"I read that The Oregonian first reported a gunman robbed Barlow Tavern on Friday; security footage posted by the paper shows a single armed robber coming in around 5 p.m., stepping quickly behind the bar, pointing a gun at the bartender, and leaving after the bartender emptied the register into a bag — the whole encounter lasted less than 30 seconds. Unlike the recent late-night or early-morning incidents, this was carried out by a single gunman in the early evening. Police have not determined any connection between the robberies, and they have named no suspects or made any arrests; there were no injuries reported, but tensions remain high for many east-side bartenders.
