"Three months after the owners of the Johnny White’s trio of bars announced the closure of Johnny White’s Corner Pub on Bourbon Street, the news has come down that the original, Johnny White’s Bar on St. Peter Street, is also closed for good. NOLA.com reported Friday, September 4 that the 51-year old, 24/7 dive bar and local institution will not reopen, citing the financial risk of owning a bar during the pandemic, the uncertainty of a timeline for reopening, and the “manner” in which the local and state governments have handled things.
