"The long wait is over — the Heights Social has opened at 1213 W. 20th St., bringing the street’s first fully enclosed, martini-focused bar with 8,500-square-feet of weather-proof partying space to West 20th Street. I noticed the posh, clean white interiors with large skylights, oversized banquettes and luxe lounge seating anchored by a massive 101-foot Restoration Hardware chandelier; designed by Cory Decuire of CD Paragon and built by DSO Construction, the venue is fitted with state-of-the-art AV, HD televisions, advanced automated lighting and a 46-foot LED wall, with a live DJ providing late-night entertainment on weekends. The beverage program emphasizes martinis — notably espresso martinis on tap — along with other cocktails on tap and a wine selection, and on weekends the bar runs midday Champagne hours (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) with a roaming Champagne cart offering bottles or glasses. While drinks are the focus, there's a full kitchen led by chef Kyle Dennis (a Crisp in the Heights alum) serving charcuterie, pizza and a signature 72-hour braised short rib panini, and the Heights Social is open daily (3 p.m. Mon–Thu, 1 p.m. Fri) with weekend brunch beginning at 11 a.m." - Megha McSwain
