"Alioto’s, a family-run Italian-American restaurant known for its iconic turquoise-and-black signage and famous cioppino, is set to close permanently after nearly a century. The restaurant, which has been at Fisherman’s Wharf since 1925, has not paid rent since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in significant back rent. An agreement with the Port of San Francisco will allow the restaurant to end its lease, subject to approval by the Port Commission and the Board of Supervisors." - Lauren Saria
