"An eclectic combination of a vintage car showroom, art gallery, outdoor beer garden, event space and full kitchen located at 411 26th Street, Classic Cars West began in 2005 when Mike Sarcona was restoring muscle cars in the Mission and later found the current Oakland building while attending Art Murmur. I see the space now operating with a new in-house food vendor (menus by executive chef Adina Butler) that serves brunch, lunch and dinner with meat-free offerings like veggie caldo verde, Beyond sausages and a variety of Impossible burgers — including the over-the-top “inconceivable burger” (two Impossible patties, “bacon,” smoked cheddar “cheese,” and a fried “egg”) and brunch items such as buckwheat flax pancakes, platanos, and “pork belly” sliders. The venue is known for a local beer list (IPAs from Ghost Town Brewing and Ale Industries) and wines such as Two Mile Wines, and it recently won a full liquor license and rolled out a cocktail list using local spirits like St. George, Wright & Brown bourbon, and Automatic gin. Sarcona says he built out the kitchen in 2014 and that pop-ups have rotated through the space as events grew, but that claim and others about the kitchen have been disputed by the prior vendor. Current kitchen hours are Wednesday–Thursday 5–9 p.m., Friday noon–10 p.m., Saturday brunch 11–3 and dinner 5–10 p.m., and Sunday brunch 11 a.m.–3 p.m." - Caleb Pershan
