"Set to debut at the fancy new Catalyst Houston high-rise, I learned that Irma’s Southwest is a chic new Tex‑Mex spot with a serious Space City pedigree occupying a 7,700-square-foot ground-floor space at 1475 Texas Street. The dining room seats 200 diners with an additional 60 spots at the bar, and the space aims for a cozy, upscale vibe with mirrored Italian glass tile, bronze fixtures, and a wood-fired oven that will churn out carne asada and Kobe beef burgers. Like its predecessor Irma’s Southwest Grill, the menu will focus on game meats such as venison and wild boar sourced from Broken Arrow Ranch alongside traditional Tex‑Mex dishes like the fire-roasted chile relleno and pork carnitas, and the cocktail program—developed by Jacob Guiterrez and Morgan Weber of Agricole Hospitality—boasts a lengthy list of tequilas and margaritas. It opens November 26 for lunch and dinner service and will be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with Saturday dinner service from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m." - Amy McCarthy
