"Opened in March in Lockhart’s historic town square, this wine bar is co-owned by Travis Tober and sommelier Kaye Askins and stocks about 150 wines with an emphasis on female-owned, minority-owned, and environmentally conscious producers. It offers a rotating list of wines by the glass as well as bottles to enjoy on-site or purchase for retail, and features a curated library of over 40 food-and-beverage books (including writers Karen MacNeil, Alice Feiring, Victoria James, and Wink Lorch) with books available for sale. The shop also carries local Lockhart goods such as wine chillers and pickled items, plans to host wine tastings and book signings, and intends to launch a subscription wine club; Askins, a 13-year hospitality veteran who mostly worked at Eataly Dallas, will be a regular presence alongside her dog, Chicken. The venue is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m." - Erin Russell
