"I found this 1940s diner in downtown North Bend wonderfully preserved in amber, with red pleather stools, yellow Formica counters, and black-and-white checkerboard floors; it starred in both the 1990 Twin Peaks debut and the 2015 reboot and even serves a real slice of cherry pie. The menu leans classic—eggy, pancakey breakfasts, cold sandwiches, and burgers—and the coffee is famously a “damn fine cup of coffee,” roasted by Seattle’s Caffe Appassionato (you can buy a branded bag on site or online). It’s less busy early in the day, and you might spot Twin Peaks cosplayers while you’re there." - Meg van Huygen
