Shine Square Pub Is Opening in Cambridge’s Porter Square | Eater Boston

"A longtime Porter Square sports bar is being relaunched after Christmas by a new team that aims to preserve its neighborhood, community-bar feel while updating the space. Evolving out of McCabe’s Bar & Grille and paying tribute to the original Shine family who ran the Porter House Cafe on the site, the owners — including longtime local bartender Dave Wells, Ron McNeill, and chef Mike Almond — plan tech upgrades (projectors replaced with multiple new TVs), new games (foosball, jukebox, pinball), and handmade finishing touches from friends. The menu keeps McCabe’s staples like wings (offered with 14 sauces and 11 dry rubs) plus sandwiches, snacks, salads, dessert, and new entrees such as steak tips, chicken and waffles, and vegetable pasta. Beverage offerings include 17 rotating beers on tap, wine on tap, a cocktail on tap, and an experimental shot on tap (a house-made sambuca).
