"I was charmed by the little Mexican panadería in Jackson Heights that Rufino Zapata and the team behind Taqueria Coatzingo opened last November: they sell an almost impossible array of Mexican sweetbreads (hojaldras, conchas, jam‑filled churros, cuernos), and I’ve already written about the excellent cajeta‑laced bigotes rellenos. I’m also enchanted by their arroz con leche hand pies — empanada-shaped pastries filled with rice pudding whose grains stay pleasantly firm, are faintly sweet, and are infused with a clear cinnamon aroma — a comforting, cooling treat after a spicy dinner nearby." - Ryan Sutton
