"Austin’s oldest grocery store, which opened in 1909, came back after closing during the pandemic break. It still serves classic deli sandwiches like roast beef, turkey, egg salad, and pimento cheese, along with salads and soup, which make a great meal on the lovely patio outside. Be forewarned that the store sells out quickly and its hours can be unpredictable — look for the “V” for victory light to let you know if it is open for business." - Melanie Haupt
