"Where can you get mole poblano con pavo and homemade mushroom and ricotta cheese ravioli in the same place? This Southwest Detroit restaurant has been a community staple and dining destination since late 2007, when chef and owner Norberto Garita opened the doors to his unique Mexican-Italian concept. At El Barzon he serves dishes that celebrate his Mexican heritage while showcasing his Italian cooking chops honed at gone-but-not forgotten Il Posto. On the weekends, check out the wood-fired pizzas like the A la Mexicana with cheese, chorizo, steak, and jalapeño with avocado slices.
