"I've seen the longtime Five Points casual seafood spot rebrand with a new name, updated space, and an abbreviated menu: under the new name Boston Commons (formerly Batter'd & Fried Boston Seafood House), owner Matthew Charette—who also owns neighboring Drifter’s Bar-B-Que and Beyond the Edge—purchased the property in July and trimmed the menu from an unwieldy 160 items to roughly 60 to better suit the neighborhood. For years New England-style seafood shared the menu with sushi, oysters, and burgers, and the still-broad menu continues to span specialty fish and chips, sushi, seafood spaghetti, and a blackened salmon sandwich. Opened in early 2006 in East Nashville, the restaurant and pub remains a gathering place for Boston-area sports team fans." - Delia Jo Ramsey
