"Located on the ground floor of the McKenzie building at 2202 8th Ave., the new Wild Ginger McKenzie is the chain's third location and opens for dinner on August 18. The modern, airy space features custom lighting and art, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an outdoor patio, and it offers sweeping 360-degree panoramas — fireworks over Lake Union, sunsets over the Sound, seaplanes, mountains, and the Space Needle — which would be perfect for impressing guests at a rooftop gathering. The restaurant will serve the same pan-Asian favorites as the original, including seven flavor beef, fragrant duck, and Sichuan green beans, plus some new dishes; its focal point is a huge satay bar where cooks will grill meat skewers over open flames and offer a larger variety of satays than at the other locations along with a long list of dipping sauces. Compared with the downtown flagship it will have a smaller wine list but will add some original cocktails. Dinner service begins August 18, happy hour runs 3–6 p.m. starting August 22, lunch starts August 27, and weekend brunch will be added later in the year." - Megan Hill
