"Chinatown’s new brightly lit Chili Bistro was calling my name on a Friday night walk along 7th Street NW. The futuristic space that starts with a silvery ceiling and zippy LED decor seems to grow as you move around, and the rectangular-shaped room reveals plenty of stylish dining nooks situated under huge orbs of light. The all-day weekday happy hour is ridiculously good, when most starters are half-off. I only wish I knew about the dine-in-only deals before I got its hot chile wontons to-go ($12). We ended up just eating the 10-piece order on-site at the nearly-empty bar that deserves more attention. The draft lines weren’t up just yet, but an IPA bottle poured nicely into an icy glass the bartender pulled fresh from the freezer." - Tierney Plumb
