"One West Seattle landmark restaurant is getting a major makeover. Husky Deli — the 87 year-old family-owned established known for its excellent ice cream — is moving forward with big plans for its new location at 4717 California Avenue, down the street from its current spot. A Seattle design review board recently gave approval for a sprawling modern mixed residential and retail building that will house the shop, which will have plenty of room to spread out in around 3,000 square feet of space. Among the amenities: a skylight, a walk-up ice-cream counter, and plenty of parking spaces. Meanwhile, the well-known neon Husky sign and chandeliers will make the trip over as well.
