Communal Coffee Branches Out in South Park | Eater San Diego

"A year after opening an all-patio coffee bar in South Park, owner and neighborhood resident Jen Byard has expanded the cafe into an adjacent storefront on Fern Street, unveiling the space on Saturday, August 31. The new location adds indoor seating, a thoughtfully selected collection of retail items (from clothing and home decor to skincare and succulents), and a public restroom. A grand opening party on September 14 will feature live music and food from local eateries including The Rose, Buona Forchetta, and Del Sur. The cafe’s menu spotlights San Francisco’s Sightglass Coffee and treats from Wayfarer Bread & Pastry in Bird Rock, and Byard plans to enlarge the kitchen at Communal Coffee’s original North Park location by the end of the year to add pizza, tapas, charcuterie, and beer and wine—many of which will also be offered at the South Park cafe." - Candice Woo
