"I'm excited that Mike & Patty’s, the cozy little sandwich shop with takeout storefronts in Boston’s Bay Village and Somerville’s Union Square, is expanding to Jamaica Plain: the new Hyde Square location at 388 Centre St. will be the first to offer dine-in seating. The roughly 1,000-square-foot space is currently under construction and could open around late 2021 or early 2022 if COVID regulations allow; the JP location will have the largest menu of the three, featuring bestsellers from the other outposts plus new and exclusive sandwiches and sides, more coffee concoctions featuring custom cold brew recipes, and the team plans to apply for an alcohol license to introduce cocktails. Known for its breakfast sandwiches, I highlight favorites like “the fancy,” a combination of fried eggs, bacon, cheddar, avocado, red onion, and mayo on toasted multigrain, and “the Jersey Shore,” which features a fried egg, Jersey pork roll, American cheese, red onions, and mayo on a sesame seed roll.
