"I learned that Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, a Tokyo-rooted chain with about 20 U.S. locations, is opening its first Texas restaurant in Katy sometime later this month at 23220 Grand Circle Boulevard, Suite 140. The ramen shop prides itself on a broth that takes 10 hours to make and on char siu that’s seared, marinated, and roasted; signature dishes include a ramen made with Yamaguchi soy sauce pork and a broth with fresh garlic and black garlic oil, plus a yuzu shio ramen featuring French sea salt, kelp, and a Japanese citrus base. Diners can also expect appetizers like chicken karaage, gyoza, Japanese pork buns, and potato croquettes, and a variety of rice dishes as satisfying alternatives to noodles." - Adele Chapin
