"A low-lit watering hole in the talent-packed intersection that includes Magna and Broder, the Lucky Horseshoe Lounge will reopen under Wickham and Maniscalco with a menu of Italian-American snacks and amaro-spiked cocktails. They'll draw on Maniscalco’s personal and culinary history to offer fried meatballs, garlic bread, marinated olives, and harder-to-find treats like fennel taralli (an Italian cracker) served with tonnato or a vegan spread with olives, capers, and Calabrian chile. Larger plates lean on pastas and hot sandwiches from the Italian-American canon—examples include a beef, pork, and ricotta meatball sub; a crispy pork cutlet with fried caper mayonnaise; and a prosciutto-and-fontina sandwich with dijonnaise—while pastas range from cacio e pepe mac and cheese to spaghettini fritti. Wickham will handle desserts, which will include house gelatos, sundaes, and zeppole with orange blossom honey. The bar will offer classics like Negronis (Sbagliato or otherwise), martinis, Sidecars, and Old Fashioneds alongside house cocktails that use Italian aromatized wines, amari, and liqueurs (for example, a martini with Cocchi Americano or the Smokeshow: Amaro Montenegro, mezcal, reposado tequila, and Luxardo Maraschino); the wine list will tilt Italian while beers and ciders will focus on the Pacific Northwest. The couple hopes to reopen in late April at 2524 SE Clinton Street." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
