"After rebranding from Gigi Gelateria, I found Dolce (272 Hanover St., Boston), run by DePasquale Ventures, has shifted its focus from frozen goods to sandwiches and café fare while retaining some of its original treats. It operates all day (7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week) and offers grab-and-go items like daily sheet pizzas and pre-made sandwiches, baked goods made at sibling restaurant Bricco, and coffee beverages; Dolce still serves gelato and cannoli as well as Italian-style doughnuts filled with cream, chocolate, or jam and cornetti. There’s some seating if I want a cappuccino or a snack in-house. Sandwiches arrive on ciabatta, focaccia, or French bread with fillings such as prosciutto, mortadella, thin-sliced zucchini, greens, and cheese, and sheet pizza options include classic Margherita and potato-and-sausage varieties." - Dana Hatic
