"A new Thai restaurant has opened in the longtime Lincoln Square space where Opart Thai House served customers for 34 years, keeping much of Opart’s menu and its longtime chef while swapping out the artwork but retaining the original furniture. The owners are the family of Rattiya Udompaichitkul — a longtime Opart employee — and her son Deer is helping run the business and set up its Instagram. The menu mixes familiar favorites like tiger cry and pad Thai with new items the owner had wanted to serve previously, including stir-fried meekrati made with pink noodles, sai oua (a Northeastern Thai sausage), garlic black pepper chicken wings, and a playful “Basilly Pearfectly Lemonade.” After Opart closed in May amid health-inspection issues, this reopening is seen as a chance to give the space a fresh start in a neighborhood that already has many Thai options." - Ashok Selvam
