Classic British Pub Wolf & Workman Opens in Old Montreal | Eater Montreal

"At 139 St-Paul W I found the Burgundy Lion Group’s new Old Montreal pub keeping things classically British: chef Louis-Philippe Camerlain is serving higher-end pub fare inspired by London taverns — think Jalfrezi chicken (Indian, but popular in the UK), cottage pie, and a burger — with an emphasis on Quebec products in the drinks program. The interior leans into the theme in a historic 1830s building lit by hanging lanterns and chandeliers, with ample tufted seating and booths in rich dark tones and plenty of wood panelling; it seats about 150 inside with a courtyard for roughly 50 more opening in summer. It’s dinner-only for now (with lunch expected within a week and brunch planned later), and current hours are 5 p.m.–1 a.m. Sunday–Thursday and 5 p.m.–2 a.m. Friday–Saturday, with longer hours — including an 11:30 a.m. opening — set to start soon; co-owner Toby Lyle hopes the pub will draw locals back to a part of town some write off as touristy." - Tim Forster
