"Perched atop the Viceroy Washington D.C. in Logan Circle, I learned Hush opened to the public over Memorial Day weekend as a new rooftop, poolside drinking spot with a view. It serves poolside tropical cocktails and cocktails that loop in local spirits, including the La Reina (charred pineapple Cotton & Reed rum, fino sherry, caramelized banana, chili dust) and a seasonal Green Hat Floral gin and tonic with lime, coconut water, elderflower, and orange bitters. The brief alfresco shared-plates menu leans Mediterranean and Spanish, featuring spiced nuts, boards loaded with Italian and Spanish cured meats, Catalan-style cocas with combinations like grilled peach with Serrano ham and mozzarella or roasted chicken in a charred tomato ragu with wild nettles and robiola cheese, and a meze platter with whipped hummus, labneh, minted tabouleh, and naan. Hush sits atop the Viceroy (which replaced the Kimpton-managed Mason and Rook Hotel last August) and is open Thursday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m." - Tierney Plumb
