"Opened by husband-and-wife team Grant and Jacy Cooper with partner Josep Prats as the Big Vibe Group’s latest concept, this all-day kitchen and bar at the corner of California and Grant Streets channels California beach culture and a “less is more” seaside lifestyle while drawing creative inspiration from street art. A wraparound patio with bamboo Ecru scalloped umbrellas, colorful tiling, marble-top tables and folding-beach-style wooden chairs, plus an interior of white oak, Moroccan light fixtures, hand-picked Round Top art and a cozy nine-seat bar, creates a breezy, escapist vibe. The globally influenced, resourceful menu mixes familiar crowd-pleasers and inventive dishes — cod croquettes, spaghetti rustichella, crab and shrimp fried rice, miso Caesar salad, a nori tostada, a forbidden bowl of black-bean-ink basmati with salmon over red coconut curry, and a snacky caviar-and-chips that makes indulgence feel casual — while a charred octopus with boiled potato, paprika, black truffle chili crunch and chimichurri provides a Spanish-tinged standout. The restaurant also incorporates fan favorites from the group’s other concepts (house-made tortilla chips and frozen margaritas, house-made pastas, ceviche) and even an Angus cheeseburger from a past pop-up, offering an approachable, modern dining experience open daily from 11 a.m." - Megha McSwain
