"I saw owner Megan Wagstaff announce on social media that her Kirkland-based macaron-maker and champagne-pourer Lady Yum is opening a new Pioneer Square location alongside Occidental Square on South Washington Street. After four years primarily focused on meringue-based confections (macarons), the bigger space will let her branch into savory offerings: tapas-esque snacks “highlighting the best of the northwest” and house craft brews, while she’ll also try new sweets including all-gluten-free entremets (light cakes, most likely) and a take on afternoon tea. Signage says it’ll open this summer though no exact date is set, and this will be Lady Yum’s fourth location after the Kirkland original, a kiosk at Sea‑Tac, and its first Seattle‑proper spot on the Amazon campus." - Tim Forster
