"Fairfax gastropub the Fat Dog is closing after more than eight years. Staff was told yesterday of the upcoming shutter, slated to go down on December 23, and now Susann and Richard Mandeville have gone public, telling Eater that “unfortunately... it is no longer sustainable for us to keep Fairfax open.” Starting today, the restaurant will keep only happy hour through dinner hours (starting at 4 p.m.), meaning no more lunch or brunch. The menu will also slim down considerably as the final day of service inches closer, so best to get in sooner rather than later for a final meal. The North Hollywood location will stay open." - Farley Elliott
