Foodless Pug Finally Gets A Real Menu Thanks to Toki Underground - Eater DC
"Customers at 10-year-old H Street watering hole the Pug can soon pair beers with steamed buns and egg rolls prepared in upstairs neighbor Toki Underground’s kitchen. Starting Wednesday, March 14, the renowned ramen shop will launch a menu exclusive to the Pug (1234 H Street NE), with small bar bites ($4 to $7) including fried chicken, cauliflower buns, and lumpia — an eggroll popular in the Philippines that’s an ode to Pug owner Tony Tomeldon’s Southeast Asian heritage. The idea to combine forces sprung from the fact that many Toki customers tend to grab a drink downstairs at the Pug while waiting for a seat anyway. Featured items heading below include watermelon radish crudo with furikake and lemon, as well as chocolate chip cookies with sweet red miso butter and cinnamon cream.
