"A three-alarm fire at 1333 Columbus Avenue last night forced the evacuation of long-running pub Fiddler’s Green and upstairs apartments. One firefighter sustained minor injuries while the SFFD worked to extinguish the blaze. A fire department representative reported extensive damage to the bar, a three-level establishment known for its classic pub feel and floor inlaid with pennies. The 1333 Columbus building was constructed in 1901 and survived the 1906 earthquake and fires.
