"Video filmed at The Vernon, near 26th and Hawthorne, captured events leading up to the arrest: it shows Lenzner cursing at bar patrons and yelling about his military service, demanding “Don’t ever f**king disrespect me,” and at one point saying “Come on outside, see what happens,” before patrons shouted that no one wanted to fight and he eventually left. Lenzner later told KATU he had not served in the military and had said it in the “heat of the moment” when he meant his family had served, and he said a patron put a toilet seat cover on his head and someone else threw something at him. An anonymous source told KATU they set the toilet seat cover on the bar and left immediately, and KATU reports Lenzner later agreed with that account; reporting and a subsequent correction indicate the assault itself occurred at Growler’s Taproom, not at The Vern." - Alex Frane
