"Southwest Detroit is arguably the taco truck capital of the city, and one family (headed by Nancy Diaz-Lopez and her husband Ramon Luis “Wicho” Diaz) has been at the vanguard of that trajectory for close to two decades. Their fleet of mobile food trucks is set up throughout the neighborhood, offering a range of tacos, mariscos, and burgers. Much of the fare from the taco trucks can also be found at the Diazes’ flagship sit-down restaurant, La Palapa del Parian, including a Mexican-style hot dog, comprised of a chicken sausage wrapped in bacon, and topped with tomato, onion, jalapeño, mayo, sour cream, and ketchup. This spot takes reservations, and online ordering is available." - Brenna Houck
