"State Fare serves up Gulf Coast and Southern favorites with inspired touches that are a fun and welcome update on the classics. Start with the fried green tomatoes topped with lump crab, remoulade and crisp rings of bright red jalapeno, and the shrimp Louie salad, a staple at Gulf Coast seafood houses. Feast on a classic seafood platter or the “H-town” fried chicken, served with collard greens and potato salad. Lighter fare includes the EADO poke bowl and pan-seared Palacios redfish with sauteed spinach. The spiffy, well-lit bar is a prime spot for meeting up with friends for cocktails and appetizers, while the fire pit on the restaurant’s waterfront patio is a nice spot to cozy up during cold fronts. Weekend brunch features avocado and street corn toast, oversized griddlecakes, French toast, and substantial breakfast burgers, along with frozen cocktails and flights of mimosas and bloody marys." - Laura L.
