"Known affectionately as Minneapolis’s narrowest restaurant, Al’s Breakfast occupies a 10-food-wide space in the Dinkytown neighborhood near the University of Minnesota. Head here for a perhaps underrated Northwoods dish: buttermilk blueberry pancakes, cooked golden-brown on the flat top. Add walnuts if you like — Al’s also offers pure maple syrup for a small extra charge. Expect to wait for a stool at most times of the day, and note that Al’s isn’t great for big groups." - Joy Summers
