"On Friday, May 5, the house at 412 NE Beech Street will be filled with Northeast Portland locals once again when Taylor, King, and Lambright open Dream House, a casual spot pouring Rainier on tap and offering cocktails in the $9–$12 range alongside domestics and house wines for $8 a glass and a rotating slate of natural wines, with an intentionally low entry-level price point to create an accessible community space. Taylor, formerly the owner of sandwich shop Brass Tacks, will run the kitchen and serve meatball subs, kale Caesars, fried chicken sandwiches, and burgers topped with house-made pickles and slathered in house-made Dijon and mayo; many dishes will incorporate house-made condiments or preserves (olives will be house-brined with citrus), pickles will rotate seasonally and be available as a plate or piled on loaded fries with cheddar (opening pickles include beets and carrots), and tacos will be built on house-made corn tortillas filled with citrus and chile-braised chicken. At the bar, Lambright and King will shake serrano-infused margaritas, hibiscus daiquiris, and other cocktails like the Evelyn (a French 75–inspired drink with butterfly pea flower–infused gin and Pernod mist), and King plans to book an eclectic selection of Portland DJs to spin vinyl—including KM Fizzy and DJ Cuica. The trio toured the space before Brasa Haya closed, felt their old stomping grounds were fitting, and received meaningful support from the Troncellitis—former Beech Street owners—who helped them secure a loan." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
