Meet the new lobby bar, Bar at Commons Club, with a piano for pop-up performances at Virgin Hotels | Eater Vegas

"Serving as the 24/7 replacement for the Hard Rock Hotel’s beloved Center Bar, the Bar at Commons Club — which Richard “Boz” Bosworth, president and CEO of JC Hospitality LLC (which owns Virgin Hotels), describes as an “off-center bar” moved to the right of the entrance — spills into the lobby in a jewel-toned setting beneath a 20-foot domed skylight. I noticed a piano at the front that converts into a deejay booth with a spin table and sub-woofers inside, and Chad Brown, Vice President of Marketing at Virgin Hotels, says the bar plans to host pop-up performances without tickets or advance notice. Colorful geodes decorate the screens that separate the lobby from the bar. Cocktails with musical and British nods include the Miss Moneypenny (Don Julio Reposado, Luxardo Marschino, grapefruit and lime juice, and agave nectar); the Bloody Brilliant (Remy Martin VSOP, Sazerac Bourbon Whiskey, blood orange bitters, and star anise syrup); and the non-alcoholic Picadilly Circus (Lyre’s dry London spirit, vanilla syrup, banana pulp, and lemon juice)." - Susan Stapleton
