"On Second Avenue in downtown Nashville, I visited a New York–based interactive cocktail destination that combines hands-on cocktail classes, cocktail-centric retail, an event space, and a soon-to-open exclusive speakeasy. Created by Owen Meyer and VP Jeff Helion, its mission is to school communities about cocktails; the first location opened in New York about a year and a half ago. In classes (tickets $50–$99) I learned recipe history and preparation while following a professional step-by-step on how to shake, stir, and sip my own cocktails, with upcoming themed sessions on whiskey, classic cocktails, bourbon and BBQ, and champagne and fried chicken. Select classes offer food pairings, private classes are available for team-building and bachelorette parties, and the ticketed speakeasy (opening in the fall) will host theme nights with big-name music acts and is billed as the first bar in the world to feature a 360-degree immersive video experience created by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Liquor Lab Nashville is open Monday–Saturday 11:00 a.m.–10:30 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m." - Delia Jo Ramsey
