"After reconnecting via social media — she asked him on Facebook whether she should go to culinary school and he, then a sous chef, answered “No” — the pair accelerated their relationship when he invited her and a friend over after the restaurant closed, opened a bottle of wine, and presented them with a tasting menu of roughly six courses.
