Tiny Scout Brings Sunshine and Breakfast to Silver Lake Today - Eater LA

"Welcome to the new Scout, a sunny takeaway shop for easy eats and neighborhood staples in Silver Lake. The new shop is tucked tightly right between Sawyer and Kettle Black, and opens today. Scout is the work of serial restaurateur Beau Laughlin, though it comes with a sunny California aesthetic all its own. The shop is just 240 square feet in all, but comes wrapped in throwback wallpaper and gilded metal touches. There’s a grab and go display case right at the entrance, along with bottles of to-go wine, cookbooks, dishware, and just about everything else. A tight menu offers Heart Roasters coffee as both espresso and drip, with pastries up front to take away. Other morning morning staples include a breakfast burrito, grain bowls, smoothies, a fried chicken sandwich and salads for lunch, and those always-ubiquitous toasts.
